I'm Back, Bitches!

I'm back!

I've missed this space and I feel like a nice little break is exactly what I needed to regroup.

Oh, yeah, and we moved. Again. Yes, less than a year ago we moved but the opportunity to actually buy a house came along so we took it. And here we are, settled in and unpacked. A new house with new walls provides a lot of fodder for blog posts so you can imagine how excited I was to get back to blogging. Every nail I hammered into every wall and every picture collage I arranged to be juuuuuust right had me thinking bloggy blog thoughts.

I'm not going to lie, though. The time off was nice. If blog and I hadn't been on an official RossandRacheal break, I probably wouldn't have had time to write anything anyway. I spent a lot of time just being in my house and soaking it in. I was doing things like baking in my new kitchen and watching movies on rainy weekends and the other kind of shit wispy memes are made of.

A few things are different around here. First, my domain name! I got a new one, not entirely different from the old one. (Eff you, Go Daddy). My new domain is now Momma-Candy.com! Just a little dash and it was mine again. All mine! And, Bloglovin followers, this is where I hang now!

I also went a little more simplistic here, which is so not me. I am a more is more type of girl and I need color and sparkle and loud and pink and sugar and ALL THE THINGS! So after immediately choosing a nice clean blog design I asked the designer if she could bring some of the old Momma Candy back and she gladly obliged. I can't thank Miss Audrey Sue Designs enough for helping me. Everything was done in just a few days and she was a huge help. If you need any blog design, visit her Etsy shop!

My domain and domicile aren't the only things that are changing around here. I'm bringing more of myself to this space. My theme for this year has been honesty. And, if we're being completely honest, I swear. And I judge. And I repent. And I care about things and causes. And if I hear the phrase "Mommy Wars" one more time I might scream because I think at this point it's something that is made up by people who either want to see a Mommy War or who are so insecure in their parenting they feel the need to defend themselves on every parenting forum known to man. But here's what, I also feel defensive in the choices I make, too. See, I play both sides. We all do. I'm going to be honest here and I'm not apologizing for it. Check the profile bio. I bake, I bitch, and I celebrate. It's how I do.

Will I be selling out? Of course! But only for things that are worth it. Like small businesses I'm really excited about or things I really believe in. It's okay to "sell out" for things that are awesome. Then it's not selling out. It's supporting. P.S. I'll still be doing giveaways on occasion because I like giving stuff away.

Speaking of supporting, I've got all kinds of fundraising going on up in here. As you may remember, we're fundraising for my son's trip to Ireland. And today I'm holding a bake sale for the YMCA Annual Strong Kids Campaign. So that means I have to bake. And I haven't even started. Ugh. But, yay for baking! But, ugh.

Before I go I just wanted to say thanks for the messages and the "when are you coming back?" check ins. I love writing. I love this world. And I couldn't stay away for long.
