Starburst Candy Corn Spider Web

Starburst Candy Corn Spider Web

I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Starburst. I received product samples to facilitate my review and promotional item as a thank you for participating.

So you all know I love candy. I love decorating with it. I love giving it as part of a gift. And, yes, I love eating it. Shocking, I know.

I really love incorporating candy into any kind of get together or party I'm having. I love finding new ways to venture outside of the typical candy bag by offering glass mason jars of color coordinated sour balls or jelly beans. Candy Sushi is one of my favorite party treats and I hang marshmallows from branches for Christmas.

Now, something else everyone knows about me is that I LOVE Candy Corn. I buy them every fall as soon as they hit the end caps at our local stores. But did you know there is Starburst Candy Corn?! Yes. It's true! Your favorite Starbursts married the Candy Corn and now we have Starburst Candy Corn!

When I think of Halloween I always think of Candy Corn. I love decorating cupcakes with Candy Corn. Who am I kidding? I just love eating Candy Corn. But Starburst Candy Corn come in Starburst flavors and colors, which adds an extra pop of color to anything it decorates.

You know who else loves candy? Tori Spelling. And she's got some really cool ideas about how to decorate with Starburst Candy Corn. You can find some of those ideas here. And they all have step by step instructions!

These were some of my favorites.

So cute and easy!

I wanted to try my hand at making one of these crafts.

I chose the Spider Web.

Tori used white craft rods but I couldn't find anything similar. So I chose to use wooden skewers because that's what I had on hand and I'm resourceful like that.

I used the wooden skewers along with a small white card stock square to anchor the middle of the web. And, of course, I included the fabulous glue gun to get the candy corns to stick. For the connecting web pieces I cut the skewers in half and then used toothpicks, as suggested, for the smallest pieces.

I finished the web by adding a spooky, green spider and some more web.

I love how it turned out!

I had some Starburst Candy Corn left over so I decided to put them in a vase with some black flowers I got from the Dollar Store.

All of this will be part of my spooktacular Halloween mantle!

Stay tuned for even more Halloween madness! I warned you guys that I love this time of year, right?

  4. That is super cute! How long will it last? Will you have to make a new one every year?

    1. I don't think it's perishable. I mean, I guess the candy would just harden over time. But it is fragile so I'm not sure it would make it in storage. That's okay, though. It was so easy I don't mind recreating it again. Or maybe even doing a few smaller webs.

  12. When I tell people I like candy corn, they look at me as if I had just said "I like eating raw newborn kittens". I don't know anyone else who likes it, so it was cool to find that you do! As for a starburst candy corn? I will haunt every store until I find those! That sounds like a candy corn of the gods!
