Five Recipes To Make With All Those Apples

Five Recipes To Make With All Those Apples

So you went to the apple orchard and picked way too many apples? And you're wondering what to do with so many apples before they spoil because you can't possibly eat that many apples by yourself?

Happens to the best of us.

Good news! There is plenty to do with all those apples. Here are some of my favorite apple recipes I've found on Pinterest or made from my own cookbook.

1. Apple Smothered Pork Chops from Real Mom Kitchen.

I love this recipe and found it online before the dawning of Pinterest. It's pork chops, topped with apples, topped with cinnamon, topped with stuffing. It is soooooo good. And so easy to make. It's the perfect fall dinner.

2. Apple Cinnamon Pancakes

I love pancake mix-ins. We do a lot of chocolate chip pancakes because that's what my kids love. But I love apple cinnamon pancakes. My mom used to make them by thinly slicing apples and mixing them into the batter with some cinnamon. So good and so fall.

3. Caramel Apple Upside Down Cake from Food, Family, and Finds

This Caramel Apple Upside Down Cake was one of the first things I ever pinned and then followed through on making. It's a really unique dessert a lot of people don't often see. I've made it several times now and I started coring the apples and then slicing them in rings so it even resemble pineapple upside down cake. It's really good, the recipe is uncomplicated and now I've talked myself into making this next week.

4. Apples Dipped in Caramel

I purposely didn't say Caramel Apples because even though those suckers are good, they're a beast to bite into. I like to cut up my apples and dip them into caramel instead. But I also saw this brilliant idea on Pinterest.

There is no link provided to this picture because like a lot of links on Pinterest today, this picture lead to a dead one. (Womp, womp!)

That's kind of really smart. And you get like twice the caramel or chocolate.

5. Apple Torte

Apple Wrapper Pie

Ahem. This was brought to you by Yours Truly (via the Betty Crocker Cookbook). It's official name is Apple Wrapper Pie but I like to call it an Apple Torte because it makes it fancy. This thing was wicked easy to make, requires like six ingredients, and you don't really even need a pie dish. It was gone in four hours, y'all. All the brown sugar melts down into the apples and creates this yummy, delicious, dense amazingness. If heaven and apples had a baby, this would be it.

I guess you could always just eat the apples plain if you're boring. But I've just given you some sweet ideas about what to do with all those apples. So go forth and cook, you apple lover!
