What I'm Watching On TV

What I'm Watching On TV

Let's talk about TV for a second.

THE REAL HOUSEWIVES OF NEW JERSEY

I didn't give a recap last week for the Real Housewives of New Jersey. There really wasn't much to say except for the most important part - THEY CAME TO TUCSON!!! Okay, so I guess all of my friends knew they were here and failed to say anything to me about it. Not like I would go hunt them down and maybe catch them at the store accidentally. I would never do that.

So yeah, they're in Tucson and doing all that spiritual, cowboy, healing, and horses stuff we're famous for. Everything is fine until Teresa says something about her karma coming back to her children. And, of course, Jacqueline thinks it's directed toward her. Um, defensive-neurotic-narcissistic much?

And this week they were still there. Apparently it took a donkey to determine once and for all that Teresa and Melissa are, indeed, the exact same person. And this donkey and his sidekick practiced looking into the souls of the cast and making them cry. It was awesome. And then they cleaned donkey crap out of donkey shoes because that shows character and stuff.

Next week they will still be in my beloved Arizona climbing ropes and proving loyalty. Or not.

BREAKING BAD

So there are four episodes left and then it's done forever. I have to say that watching this entire series on Netflix up until now ruined me. I am so not satisfied with one episode at a time. It's not enough. I'm used to instant gratification. Plus, I'm not really getting how Jesse finally realized all of Walt's evil ways at that very minute just by looking at his cigarette box. But I'm glossing over it because in real life Jesse would have been killed a long time ago. Please don't die, Jesse! Honestly, I don't want anybody to die. Not even Walt.

ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK

I had nothing to watch last week and I had been seeing status updates and tweets about this show. I had one episode of Breaking Bad to watch that I had missed from Season 2 and when I finished it, there it was, staring me in the face. Orange is the New Black. So I pressed play.

We watched a few episodes every night and yowza! Not only is it funny, but it's a really good story. It's actually loosely based on a true story, which is also interesting. It's also one of those shows where I'm rooting for someone and then I see another side and I don't like them anymore. It happens to every character in this show. You think you love a certain character and then they do something that makes you hate them. And the ones you hate, you change your mind. Well, I guess that happens for every character except for Pensatucky. She's just vile. But who ever plays her is so good!

I wonder if the writers intentionally push the envelope for shock value or to make the viewer uncomfortable. If you are easily offended pass on this series. Just keep on walking. But if you like a good story and really good characters, tune in.

What are you watching?

  1. Great reviews! I've watched every show mentioned except Breaking Bad...the previews this season have peaked my interests and I put it in my Que to watch on NetFlix...you just made me want to do that sooner:) I don't really watch RHOWNJ anymore...too much drama BUT I finished Orange Is The New Black in 2 days! It is very graphic and can be offensive but if you go for the storyline it's a Must See...

    1. I agree. OITNB is kind of addicting but really jarring sometimes. I promise Breaking Bad will suck you in.

  2. I watched the RHWONJ episode but I caught it in the middle. That guy that was their guide was a pretty good therapist! And spot on with his assesments of everyone.

  3. Oh my gosh I watched Orange is the New Black and loved it. So crazy and yeah probably not for everyone. I cannot wait for the next season as we watched all of season one in a couple of weeks. I would also be interested in reading the book written by the real Piper.
