I've heard them all.

"Way back Wednesday!"

"What I wore Wednesday."

Or one of my favorite from my friend, Courtney, "Whiny Wednesdays."

I'm celebrating "What I want Wednesday."

I've never heard of it before and I guess I could google it but I'm too lazy for that. I'm claiming it as my own. It's mine. Feel free to join in. Even if it's Thursday. Or Friday.

I want a new van. I never thought I'd be a minivan driver. Well, maybe I did. I always wanted a bunch of kids and what else would I cart them around in? I have three kids, one of which has a wheelchair, and that's pretty much like having a bunch of kids. So the whole minivan thing became essential.

That being said, we are now on the prowl for a new ride. Our current van has served her purpose and now boasts 140K miles, which is, I'm sure, terribly fascinating to you all. It's time for a new van. Yay! And a new payment. Blah.

I want a new blow dryer. I've had the same one for like three years and I'm pretty sure it's only a few blow outs away from completely combusting into flames and taking my hair with it.

I want something sweet. I want blueberry streusel muffins. Or cake and frosting. Or cookies. Or maybe sour candies. What I've really been trying to talk myself into getting is a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup Blizzard. It hasn't happened yet. But what is happening is me devising a plan to make a batch of Amish Friendship Bread so I can have some to stuff in my mouth and then I can force it on to my friends who then turn around and give me back twice the amount I gave to them. And when I just can't bake anymore I let the mixes spoil and throw them in the garbage because I can't eat anymore frickin bread! But I still want it. Friends that live by me: Get ready to bake, suckers!

I want to go to the gym. But I've been pretty terrible at it this week. Too much going on and the nail in the coffin was that Lola told me she didn't want to go. She said the kids there aren't her friends. Well, rip my heart out, why don't you.

I want my niece to come visit! My niece is coming tomorrow from New York! And my sister has already made me promise to take her straight to Eegees. That will be happening, no promises needed.

And, of course, I want peace on earth and all of that.

What do you want?

  1. This is an awesome idea! Too bad I'm a day late...lol. I'm still gonna jump in board though...So, right this moment I'm having one of your wants. I just ate 3 Little Debbie hohos...think I may have a bit of a sweet tooth? ;). I now want a very large cup of coffee... Hahah! I would also like a Michael Khora purse (it's so missing from my closet...I have a spot all picked out). Great post! :D

    1. Lucky! I wish I had a hoho! Large cup of coffee - check! And I actually just got a Michael Kors purse! You probably have a blow dryer and a mini van!

  2. Shauna - I wonder if there is any organization that might help you with obtaining a new van, considering Christian's issues. I'm sure you've thought of this - it's the first thing that crossed my mind when I saw that you needed a new van..

    1. I've looked into and you'd be surprised that there aren't that many. At least not that are public or widely known. There are contests but no organizations that help. I also know a lot of families with children with special needs who face the same "how do we get a van" prospect and the majority of them have to go out of pocket. I mean it's fine. We've run fundraisers and raised money for therapies in the past. I don't want to wear out my welcome asking for help, ya know. We'll find a way but thanks so much for the suggestion! I think I'll do a little more research before I throw in the towel. :-)

I love all your comments, big and small! Unless they're mean. Nobody likes a meanie.
