Facebook Stalking

Facebook Stalking.

I mean research...Facebook research.

Have you ever been up late at night, bored, wandering around Facebook? Maybe you're reading status after status about what someone ate for lunch, passive aggressive messages to in laws, posts about how perfect and happy their life is, or how big their new house is. It's all very riveting.

Have you ever found yourself, oh, maybe coming across a friend of a friend who you used to be friends with? Or even an ex? Someone you haven't seen in a while? And maybe you click on that profile. You know, totally innocently. Maybe it's somebody from your past. Again, it's totally innocent. You just want to see what they're up to. Innocent! (Just keep repeating it.)

There's a term for that. It's called Facebook stalking. For lack of a better word, I'm using it as a reference.

Facebook stalking. So have you ever done it? Have you ever looked up an old boyfriend or girlfriend to see what they're up to? And have you ever scored with a profile that isn't PRIVATE? Have you ever been able to look into their lives a little to see how they turned out?

And then have you ever found a photo album under their profile with pictures of a seemingly happy life and it made you feel genuinely happy for that person while simultaneously confirming that you two were clearly not meant for each other. You might see their new life, their new wife, their kids, and you feel happy for them. And you feel happy for yourself that things turned out the way they did because they turned out exactly how they were supposed to. And have you ever wanted to tell them you were happy for them? But you can't because you're not friends. And you don't really want to be.

Or have you ever lost touch with an old friend? Or maybe had a falling out with them? And then you find them on facebook and see that maybe they're not doing so well? Or maybe something tragic happened to them? Or maybe their path led them somewhere not good and not happy and maybe not so facebook status worthy? Have you ever wanted to reach out to that person? Have you ever wanted to tell that person how sorry you are for their turn of events? How sorry you are for whatever happened to them? And maybe you did care about them after all?

Have you ever separated paths from a relationship or a friendship and found that old "friend" on facebook only to find that you were so lucky to have taken the path you did? Have you ever actually felt grateful you dodged that bullet?

Have you ever been stoked when you find someone from your past on facebook that has a profile that's not private so you can see all their pictures but you don't have to friend request them?

Have you ever facebook stalked?

 Yeah. Me neither.

  7. HAHAHAHA Shauna, ALL of that has happened to me and I'm guilty as charged doing it. I think I did that from 2009 - 2011 and then I deleted everybody and now have about 10 people on my page. LOL Some just do the same stuff over and over again. Plus many were just being nosy.
