Eating Our Way Through Superbowl

I just finished cleaning up from our little superbowl extravaganza.

And by extravaganza, I mean hubby cooks, word gets around, and people show up to eat what hubby cooks.

Can we all just agree that Beyonce kind of killed it tonight?

Who else got excited to see the Destiny's Child reunion?

I may or may not have Bootylicious downloaded to iTunes. Don't hate.

The best part of the performance? Watching my three year old try to dance along with Put A Ring On It. Go on, Little Girl!

Oh, yeah, the food. Well, we like to eat and we like to cook, if you haven't noticed by probably 80% of my posts so far tying back to food in some way, shape, or form.

Of course, we did the regular burgers and dogs, but we also had elk chili and beer brats.

I didn't really pay attention to all that because I got full on sides and appetizers. Like these...

To the left, to the left (Beyonce reference in case you didn't know) is Bacon-Shrimp Fondue. My husband's concoction. On the right is a Buffalo Chicken Dip covered in sharp cheddar. The recipe can be found at Tidy Mom.

The recipe suggests you eat it with tortilla chips, but I used celery to scoop up my cheesy, ranchy dip because I'm healthy like that.

We like bacon here. We also like chocolate. So, naturally, when my husband saw chocolate covered bacon was all the rage in the bacon-loving world, he had to have it, too.

Here's a shortcut.

This is how you make it:

Get bacon. Fry or bake it. Drizzle and splat with melted chocolate.

It's perfect if you're a bacon lover but not ready to take the plunge (pun intended) and dip the whole piece of bacon in chocolate. Although, that's pretty heavenly. Of course, we've tried it.

I also really love cake pops. Like, a lot.

I love them more than regular cake.

So I learned how to make them last year for super bowl and repeated the process this year.

I saw a picture of little football pops on Design Eat Repeat and I thought they were so cute! I used chocolate cake, chocolate frosting, and dark chocolate candy coating for Triple Chocolate Football Cake Pops.

My little messy footballs were so good! And now they're all gone. Good thing. Otherwise, I'd be snacking on them all week! Ha ha! Cake pops are a snack to me.

Awesome things coming this week!

I'm really excited about some reviews I'm writing up this week!

But one of them I am beyond excited to tell you about because with it, I'll be hosting my VERY FIRST GIVEAWAY with Whole Soul Jewelry!!!
